THRISSUR: Noted writer K R Prasad died at his house in Thrissur on Monday. He was 66.
Prasad was active in the literary field while studying at Christ College, Irinjalakkuda, and Maharajas College, Ernakulam. Moving to the Gulf in 1960's, he became active in writing and penned around 80 short stories.
Prasad became a noted writer with his story, Sandharsanam in 1968. He also won the Kungumam award for his novel Nedunnavarum Nashtapedunnavarum in 1979. Kathanakam is Malayalam stories.
He is the niece of Sardar Gopalakrishnan, first martyr in Republic India.
He is survived by wife Pranja and children Prana and Preena. Prasad's body was cremated at the Vadukkara crematorium.
